President's Message
The future is now — geodata and business insights grow together!
We may not be able to see into the future, but we can actively influence our success in the future today. For us, the direction is clear: We will continue to innovate sensors and software to capture and create geodata, make geodata available to diverse users on platforms, and use analytics and artificial intelligence to transform geodata into decision-relevant business insights. Together with our customers, we will generate significant added value now and in the future.
We are realising one of the most ambitious offensives in the geospatial industry and bring visions to life. At the same time, we are living our unique heritage. In this issue, you will once again read about the many solutions and people who are making history — about pioneers who are reaching new heights.
Cloud solutions create a unified data environment that bridges gaps, connect the field and the office and boost collaboration and communication. Reality Cloud Studio, powered by HxDR, is a perfect example of such a solution. For a deep dive, I recommend reading this issue’s featured news.
Field solutions aid data collection and analysis in real-world environments to automate and streamline tasks on-site, ensure quality control, increase productivity, and enhance on-the-spot decision-making. A case in point: Prex, a Japanese construction company, reduced construction times and enhanced accuracy assessments using Leica Geosystems’ iCR70 robotic total station and iCON build software.
We are also showcasing the transformative power of geodata to shake up the elemental configuration of industries, steering them towards more efficiency, productivity, safety and, ultimately, sustainability. Leaders from Hexagon’s Geosystems division share what potent reagents help convert industries: John Welter delves into the power of geospatial partnership ecosystems; Christian Luttenberger explains how standardisation helps the heavy construction industry thrive through machine automation; and Moritz Lauwiner emphasises the importance of service culture and innovation to support the ongoing conversion from data to insights.
So, we are once again starting new chapters to continue writing our — and your — ongoing success story, and we look forward to working together as partners and inspiring each other. With a global presence and a high degree of diversity, our journey into the digital future continues unabated — people-centred and responsible. Innovation is and remains our tradition and future.
